Back to Fitblr-ing!

But in a new place.

I’ve decided to combine my old “life” blog with this fitblr blog into a new weight-loss-life-with-a-new-baby blog.

I liked having one blog wholly dedicated to weight loss before, but I don’t think that’s as realistic now.  With a new baby, I can’t be completely focused on losing weight all the time like I was before.  AND I have a feeling it’s going to be hard enough to have time to update one blog, let alone two!

I’ve completely revamped my old blog, and I’m really excited to start blogging regularly again!  So if you aren’t already and would like to, please come follow me at my new life-with-a-new-baby-and-losing-the-pregnancy-weight blog: Life With Liam where we will keep up with this cute little guy:

And have lots of crazy new-mom adventures and hopefully lose a lot of weight!

2011

You know what’s feeling really weird?

Last year at this time I was just starting - I had just started this blog, started the 30 day shred, started counting my calories.  I was just beginning the weight loss thing.

My goal was to be at 160 lbs by the end of 2011.  And I probably hopefully would have been (or at least close)!  At least I like to tell myself that.  :)

People keep asking me if I have any New Years Resolutions, and I just say no.  But I do!  I just can’t start right away!  I will lose all the weight again and then some after this baby is born!

And I’m sure my weight loss journey will be extremely different the second time around, but I can’t wait to start again. :)

Oh!  And here’s my baby “bump” which is now most definitely a BELLY.
I’m about 5 1/2 months, and our little one is roughly the size of a spaghetti squash (which really makes me in the mood to cook a spaghetti squash!  at least that’s healthy!)

I MISS THIS

Ok so I really DO feel super happy and blessed to be expecting the miracle of a little baby (who is a BOY:)) and to have had a pretty great pregnancy so far.

But sometimes I am a little tired of being pregnant.  I miss counting my calories and being proud of myself when I’ve had a really good day.  And I miss working up a good sweat.  And I REALLY miss seeing the number on the scale going DOWN.

I can’t wait to start working out and losing weight again after this baby is born!!

An Update!

So between the constant exhaustion and the I-could-puke-at-any-second feeling, I haven’t even thought about thinking about running for the past two months.  I actually barely exercise anymore and am lucky if I get out there for a walk.

But I took a long walk in the park today, and man do I ever miss running.  Seeing all the runners out there and walking the same path that I used to run really made me miss running.  And I know that some people run while they’re pregnant, but I just really don’t think that’s for me.  I know the baby would probably be fine, but I just feel like he/she would be so jostled around in there if I went running!

Anyway, the point is, I miss running.  I miss exercise.  I miss losing weight and watching what I eat.  And I miss blogging.

So at Target today, I bought a Pregnancy Fitness DVD that I will hopefully do tomorrow!  And I plan to spend less time on the couch and more time getting up and around and going for walks, etc.  Now that I’m through the first trimester, I can definitely feel my energy coming back, and I’m going to take advantage of it.

And I thought I would update my blog for anyone still reading. :)

On the weight topic, I’ve gained about 6 pounds so far - which is just a little bit over the recommended amount of weight gain for the first trimester (2-4 pounds).  So I don’t think I’m doing too terribly considering that all I usually want to eat is CARBS and more carbs (specifically bagels and mac and cheese - terrible, I know!).  And I pretty much need to eat all the time to keep from feeling too nauseous.

On the life topic, my husband and I are moving from Pittsburgh to Indianpolis this coming weekend because he got a promotion (happy and sad feelings all day everyday over here).  And actually, he started his new job three weeks ago, and so he has been there and I have been here and that’s been pretty hard.  My last day at my main job was last week, and this week I’m just packing and tying up loose ends before the move on Saturday.  Then, we are staying with my in-laws for two weeks before we can move into the apartment we will be renting.  So life is definitely on the hectic side.

And one last thing, I think I am going to be starting a new blog about pregnancy and stuff since I don’t have a whole lot to blog about in the weight loss/exercise/eating category anymore.  There isn’t anything posted on it yet, but it will be:  www.littlenugflinn.tumblr.com - if you’re interested.  Little Nug/Nugget is what we call our future baby.  :)

And here’s a  picture of my baby bump!

This is at 10 weeks - and I’m 13 weeks now.  I’m actually starting to look much more pregnant now, and even bought a maternity shirt today!  :)

Well, I miss all my tumblr friends, and I hope everyone is rocking it out with their weight loss and fitness goals!!

Major Curveball

To weight loss that is.

First of all, sorry I haven’t been around AT ALL for like the past 2 weeks.  But we found out some major news that totally changes everything.

Any guesses?  :)

I’m pregnant!!

I know, right?!?  Holy crap!!  It wasn’t exactly planned, but we are so excited!!

We’ve known for about a week and a half, but I avoided posting until everyone I know irl that reads my blog heard the news.

So, I’m no longer necessarily losing weight.  BUT that doesn’t mean I’m not eating healthy.  Anyone that’s ever read What to Expect When You’re Expecting (or probably any book about being pregnant) knows that eating healthy is SO important for both mama and baby - especially getting enough vitamins everyday.

So my main focus has shifted to that - healthy foods with lots of vitamins that I need to grow a baby and not eating an obscene about of calories all the time (though satisfying a craving every once in a while is FINE), and I still plan to work out, though it’s been tough lately because I’ve just been SO SO tired ALL the time, but I know that will ease up with time, and I will workout just as often as I always have been.  I plan to walk A LOT, and on an incline when I’m on the treadmill, and probably reunite with the elliptical.  I’ve also been looking into some prenatal workout dvds - any suggestions?

Hopefully I won’t gain too much extra weight while pregnant, and then will be able to lose it shortly after. That’s the plan anyway. :)

All those new clothes I just bought?  Hopefully I’ll get to wear everything at least a couple times, and then they will officially become post-pregnancy goal clothes.  (Except for the bras?  Not sure I will need those again, but don’t really mind that either:))

So I’ll try to still post occasionally, though probably not as often.  And I obviously won’t be doing WIW and things like that.  Sorry to my followers that were expecting a weight loss/fitblr blog!  But I will still be a healthy and happy blogger for those that care to stick around.  And I will most definitely be reverting back to a weight loss blog sometime after March 2012 when I have a newborn. :)
